Taco Pie

Taco Pie


1 premade or homemade pie crust*
1/2 - 1 lb ground beef
1 can refried beans
2 onions chopped or 1 TBL dry minced onion
1/2 pkg Taco Seasoning
1 cup crushed tortilla chips
1 cup shredded cheese

         Make pie crust and cook at 450 degrees for about  5-7 minutes.  While crust is baking, brown ground beef with onions.  Drain.  Mix and warm refried beans with ground beef.  Add taco seasoning.  Place inside baked pie crust.  Top with crushed tortilla chips and cheese.  Bake 450 degrees for 5-7 minutes or until crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly and melted.  Add any desired taco toppings (lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, sour cream, etc).


*Easy Pie Crust directions:
Easy Oil Pastry  (from the Better Homes and Garden cookbook)
1 1/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup cooking oil
3 TBL milk
     In medium bowl stir together flour, sugar, salt.  Add oil and milk.  Stir lightly with fork.  Form into ball.  Press dough firmly onto bottom and up sides of a 9 inch pie plate.  Fill and bake as directed.
